Executive Physical Examinations
|
|
(See Corporate
Care Essential Package for corporate physicals)
A yearly EHS Executive Physical is available to all clients upon request. Each
client will complete a thorough risk assessment questionnaire prior
to the visit. The client’s past
medical history, family history, social history and health habits will be
reviewed, and a complete review of symptoms and systems will be discussed.
The physical exam will take place at the EHS medical suite in a relaxed,
comfortable environment.
The comprehensive physical exam includes vital signs (height,
weight, blood pressure, temperature, respiratory rate and pulse rate),
hearing and vision screens, and a head-to-toe, age- and
gender-appropriate examination.
Available tests include an electrocardiogram (to assess for
irregular heart beats or abnormalities associated with heart disease),
spirometry (to assess for asthma, emphysema or other lung
abnormalities) and a comprehensive laboratory evaluation. If requested, a
thorough eye evaluation is provided by a Board certified Ophthalmologist
and will include visual acuity, glaucoma screen and screening for other
ocular irregularities. When needed, arrangements are made for chest
x-ray, colon cancer screening (virtual or standard
colonoscopy), carotid artery blood flow assessment, aortic
aneurysm screening, bone density evaluation, and cardiac
stress testing. ‘Total body’ and ‘ultra-fast cardiac’ CT
scans are scheduled when needed. For female clients, breast exam,
gynecologic exam and Pap smear are available, and mammography
can be arranged.
The blood samples may be drawn at the client’s home or office prior to the
visit. Tests will include complete blood counts (to evaluate for
anemia and low-grade infections) and chemistry screens (to rule-out
diabetes, liver and kidney disease. State-of the-art cardiac risk
panels (including complete lipid profile (VAP), C-reactive protein and
Homocystine levels) are utilized to assess heart disease and stroke risk.
When appropriate, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) for prostate
cancer screening, thyroid function tests to evaluate for thyroid
dysfunction, rheumatologic profile for inflammatory conditions, and
other screening and diagnostic laboratory tests (including cancer markers,
viral titers, bleeding and clotting tests may be checked.
At the conclusion of the visit a summary discussion will take place
in your doctor’s private office to review the results. Your physician will
explain the implications of each finding, prescribe a health maintenance
or disease management plan, and plan your follow-up schedule.
